Playa Blanca May 2025 Restaurant reviews
On our recent trip to Playa Blanca we visited some restaurants, some new and some we often visit so thought I would give you a run down on our experiences.
L’Artiste
Usually…one of our favourite restaurants .
Unfortunately, on this occasion it was disappointing. I tend to get the same dish there because its so good – Penne al Vodka, but something wasn’t right about it, my husband got the same and also agreed. It was like the cream was missing…..usually it’s a lovely creamy tomato based dish but it was just tomato based, no cream. Yes, we could have said something but the taste was fine, just not the same.
Kids got pizza and as usual couldn’t eat it all so we brought the leftovers home and heated up the next day for lunch.
This is a huge benefit to staying in a villa, there is always someone in our group (2 adults and 2 kids) who can’t finish dinner so we bring it home and use for a lunch. In one sense you are getting a dinner and a lunch for the same price.
Camel
We tried this restaurant for the first time by chance, and I have to say it was so good. Adults got starter to share.
Kids got pizza each (pizza addicts), I got fajitas, and my husband got steak.
Kids had 2 smoothies and water, and we got a bottle of wine and the cost was €91.81, very reasonable and the portions were huge. I couldn’t eat all the fajitas, and the kids had pizza leftover so they packaged it up for us and we brought home. My husband and I shared the leftover fajitas for lunch the next day at the villa and again kids had the leftover pizza.
Arabellas/Jungle Vibes
Another new place for us to try was Arabellas or Jungles Vibes as its more recently known! After hearing so much about it I decided to book it. I booked in advance as I heard it books out quickly. The night we booked was our wedding anniversary so when making the booking they ask you if it’s an occasion.
When we arrived, they had a Happy Anniversary Note for us and offered us a free glass of bubbly an the kids got a non-alcoholic version, very thoughtful.
We ordered an adult starter to share, lasagne and lamb for adults and kids had a pizza and spaghetti Bolognese. Very tasty and will definitely so again. Just to note the portions are huge!! And you guessed it, we ended up bringing spaghetti Bolognese, pizza and lasagne home and lunch the next day was sorted! We got minerals and water for kids and adults had wine and some cocktails and the price was €108.30 – again very reasonable.
The Old Mill
We have been here before for drinks and lunch, but we decided to come here on our last night for dinner.
It was busy and the waiters were under pressure, but the small wait was worth it.
Food was so good, there wasn’t a crumb left.
We didn’t bother with starters, I got surf and turf steak, my husband got scampi and the kids got a cheeseburger and nuggets (for a change!). Minerals and water for the kids and alcohol got cocktails and gin. Kids also got ice cream after. I cannot recall the price, but I remember thinking it was very reasonable, less than €80 if I remember rightly.
We visited other places to, Lani’s (lunch), Irish Anvil (breakfast), O Connors (breakfast) will discuss them another time.
